Fans, Friends en Famiglia; This is a last minute reminder, Tell a friend, Bring a friend. This Fri.Aug.31, RDB will be at Ziggie's Saloon, @ blks East of Sheridan on 38th. 9:15-1:15. This is the 2nd of 3 perf. that are being recorded for next RDB cd to be LIVE. Your attendance would be fine. Live recordings are like walking a tightrope. Of course, I'd like to think it'll all come off smoother than a baby's behind. Love to see you there. This Mon.Sept.3, Labor Day, Willie Houston & the Blues Prowlers will be performing at New venue, Waterloo IceHouse at 809 Main St. Louisville. Perf.4-7pm. This is the site of the former Druid Arms, and/or, "Pasquale's". I gigged Pasquale's a lot in the late 80's and early 90's w/ Randall Dubis's, "Over Head Jam" and prior to that the Roadmasters. Ex-owner Steve Rowe lives and works in the St.Louis area, so some ghosts will creep out of the woodwork. I received a phone call from Steve on a Wed. night in'97 or so....Steve said, " There's someone here you gotta meet. Bring 'yer axe." So later that night I met and played with Texas Blues guitar legend, Sonny Rhodes. He was wearing his Buddy Guy 'Sunday best" bib overalls. My life hasn't been the same since............Steve also brought in Eddie Kirkland, Eddie"The Chief" Clearwater and many other 'chitlin' circuit veterans. So, consider comin' in for an early show on Labor Day. Beef Brisket is supposed to be the special of the day. This will be day 3 of their Grand Opening weekend. Take care, Randall Dubis Band and Willie Houston & the Blues Prowlers

Dear Fans and Friends; Just a quick update. It's been a while. Since my last communique, in addition to my own schedule; I've aligned myself with the Willie Houston Band,( The Blues Prowlers ). See; www.WillieHouston.com. Willie is the "Dean" of the Denver Blues scene. Born in Grand Cane, Louisiana, Willie since 1946 or so, has been a Denver resident. He has a unique performance style and his shows are well worth checking out. See his web-site for the Prowlers schedule. I don't mind doing double duty and I'm enjoying 'opening' his shows and performing w/ Hubert Blues Lawhorn;bass, Tony Pantelis; drums and Mark Ferris;keyboards. Revisions are being made to the www.RandallDubis.com. web-site. New photos w/captions, MUSIC, products page w/ PayPal for purchase of last 3 cd's. And more....thanks to Hubert Blues Lawhorn and Gary Hamor for their digital assistance, musicianship and friendship. So check it out. We're gettin' there.
Got back from Canada about a month ago. The weather was rough goin' up there, but ultimately worth the trip. Customs was more brutal than usual, but......I was greeted by the Canadian customs man with," Are you here at the invitation of the Canadian government?" Visions of me and the Queen and Provincial Prime Minister danced through my head. I couldn't lie, I had to say no. some day this story will be compared to the Arlo Guthrie,"Alice's Restaurant" epic. 8 by 10 glossie photographs with a paragraph on the back explaining.......ask me about it some time. Ultimately, despite the presence of legitimate work permits etc. they let me and Jon into the country. Good thing I'm athletically inclined, because the many diplomatic back flips I performed for the customs official make me a shoo-in for the next Olympics. Thanks to Jim at Blues On Whyte in Edmonton for ( as usual) going to bat for me.

Dear Fans&Friends; Just a quick note to wrap up '06 and debut '07. This Fri. Dec.29 we'll be appearing at Ziggie's @ 38&Sheridan in Denver; 9:30-1:30. Sat. the 30th @'Back Room Jazz' @ 1700 Vine in Denver. Nice new club. It's the back half of 'Emilio's' of the same address. Also 9:30-1:30. Lots of shifting of dates for Jan.'07. Right now (excluding fill-ins) we'll be at The 1st Street Pub&Grill, Jan.19,( my Birthday ); how's that for shameless self promotion? That's in Nederland and is a 9:30-1:30 show. Thurs.,Jan.25 we'll be at the Boulder Outlook on 28th St. in Boulder. This is an early show. Of note; It will be filmed for "Tuesday Blues" the local cable access TV show. This is my second appearance for them and extra special because it's filmed at the gig w/ audience as opposed to 'in studio'. An audience is best. Please come out for this gig. It took me 7 mos. to secure a date there and I hope to (of course) be re-booked for a weekend date. It will also be my Boulder cd release gig for the new record, "bitterSWEET", Sylvan-Adam Records. Pass the word....Feb.6-20th I'll be in Canada doing my second annual, "Great White North Blues Slam. Will be appearing in Red Deer and Edmonton, Alberta. Will be giving particulars in next missive. Please be healthy and happy in the New Year and we hope to see you 'out there and everywhere. Bluesly Yours, Randall Dubis & Band
